Calculate material weight: steel, aluminum, wood, concrete

Calculate the weight of building materials for logistics and statics:

  • Formula: Weight = volume × density
  • Steel: 7850 kg/m³
  • Aluminum: 2700 kg/m³
  • Concrete: 2400 kg/m³
  • Wood (spruce): 450 kg/m³
  • Wood (oak): 680 kg/m³

Examples:

  • Steel beam 3m × 0.1m × 0.2m: V = 0.06 m³, weight = 471 kg
  • Concrete slab 2m × 1m × 0.1m: V = 0.2 m³, weight = 480 kg
  • Wood beam (spruce) 4m × 0.1m × 0.1m: V = 0.04 m³, weight = 18 kg

Transport planning: Car trailer 750kg, Sprinter 1.5t, truck 7.5t. Note load capacity!

Tip: Use the manufacturer's table values for steel profiles (I-beams, U-profiles) - more accurate than volume calculation.
