Calculate wallpaper requirements: How many rolls do I need?

Calculate exactly how many rolls of wallpaper you need for your room - with offcuts taken into account:

  • Room dimensions: Enter length, width, height
  • Doors/windows: Take deductions into account
  • Sample repeat: Offset for sample wallpapers
  • Cuts: Allow for 10-15% additional requirements
  • Roll dimensions: Standard 0.53m × 10.05m = 5.32m²

Calculation:

  1. Wall area: (2 × length + 2 × width) × height
  2. Deductions: Doors (approx. 2m²), windows (approx. 1.5m² each)
  3. Net area by roll (5.32m²) = number of rolls
  4. +10% waste and reserve

Example: Room 4m × 3m, height 2.5m: Wall area = 35m². Deductions (door + window) = 3.5m². Net 31.5m². Rolls: 31.5 / 5.32 = 5.92 → 6 rolls + 1 reserve = 7 rolls.

Sample wallpaper: For repeat >20cm: +15% waste. For large pattern +20%.
