Discount calculator: calculate reduced price and savings

How much do I save with a 20% discount? Our discount calculator determines quickly:

  • Reduced price: Final price after discount deduction
  • Absolute saving: How many euros saved?
  • Multiple discounts: Calculate an additional 20% + 10%
  • Reverse calculation: Determine original price
  • Compare: Compare different discount offers

Calculation:

  • Discount amount = original price × (discount% / 100)
  • New price = original price - discount amount
  • Or directly: New price = original price × (1 - discount%/100)

Examples:

  • €100 - 20% = €80 (saving: €20)
  • €249 - 15% = €211.65 (saving: €37.35)
  • €1,599 - 30% = €1,119.30 (saving: €479.70)

Multiple discounts: 20% + 10% is NOT 30%! Rather: first 20% off, then 10% of the reduced price. 100 € - 20% = 80 € - 10% = 72 € (total 28% discount, not 30%).

Marketing trick: "Up to 70% discount" usually only means individual items. Average discount often only 20-30%. Always compare prices! RRP (recommended retail price) often artificially high.
