Convert portions: Adjust recipe quantities
Adjust recipe quantities automatically - from 4 to 6 people or as required:
- Scaling factor: New portions / original portions
- All ingredients: Multiply by factor
- Spices carefully: Do not scale 1:1
- Baking times: Only adjust for extreme changes
- Liquids: Reduce for large quantities (evaporation)
Example: Recipe for 4 people → 6 people: Factor = 6/4 = 1.5. 200g flour → 300g, 3 eggs → 4.5 ≈ 5 eggs (round up).
Special features:
- Eggs: Often difficult to divide. 1.5 eggs = 1 whole + ½ whisked
- Spices: Only +50% if doubled (otherwise too intense)
- Salt: Careful! It is better to season
- Yeast/baking powder: Can be scaled 1:1
Tip: Cooking recipes can be scaled well. Baking recipes are more sensitive - if doubling, it is better to bake 2×.
