How many kilometers are 10,000 steps? Our calculator determines your walking distance:
- Average stride length: 60-80 cm (depending on the person)
- Women: approx. 60-70 cm stride length
- Men: approx. 70-80 cm inseam length
- Children: 40-60 cm depending on age
- Size is important: Taller people = longer strides
Rule of thumb: stride length ≈ height × 0.4
Example calculations:
- 10,000 steps × 0.7m = 7 km
- 15,000 steps × 0.75m = 11.25 km
- 5,000 steps × 0.65m = 3.25 km
