Convert industrial minutes to decimal hours

Industrial minutes (decimal time) are used in working time recording and payroll accounting. Our calculator helps with:

  • Payroll accounting: Timesheets in decimal format (1.5h instead of 1:30h)

  • Overtime calculation: Precise time recording for billing

Conversion logic: 1 hour = 100 industrial minutes. A normal minute is divided by 0.6:

  • 15 minutes = 0.25 hours = 25 industrial minutes
  • 30 minutes = 0.50 hours = 50 industrial minutes
  • 45 minutes = 0.75 hours = 75 industrial minutes
  • 1:30h = 1.5 decimal hours = 150 industrial minutes

The industrial minute makes calculations much easier: 8.5 hours × 15 €/hour = 127.50 € is easier to convert than 8:30h. Modern time recording systems only use decimal format for automated payroll accounting and export to accounting software.
