Convert pixels to cm/mm with DPI resolution
The correct conversion between pixels and physical dimensions is essential for printing and professional graphic design. Our DPI calculator supports:
- Print preparation: Calculate image size for flyers, posters, business cards
- Graphic design: Meet resolution requirements for print shops
- Photography: Determine maximum print size of photos
- Web-to-print: Preparing images for offline media
- Display calibration: Screen resolution vs. physical size
Standard DPI values:
- 72 DPI: Screen display (web, presentations)
- 150 DPI: Newspaper printing (minimum quality)
- 300 DPI: High-quality printing (standard for photos, flyers)
- 600 DPI: Professional printing (art prints, books)
- 1200 DPI: Very high quality (fine art, technical drawings)
Example calculation: A photo with 3000 × 2000 pixels at 300 DPI results in a print size of 25.4 cm × 16.9 cm. For A4 printing (21 × 29.7 cm) at 300 DPI, you need at least 2480 × 3508 pixels. DPI (dots per inch) indicates how many pixels are printed on 2.54 cm (1 inch).
